OOC QUESTIONS
What type of character is allowed here? All AUs, original characters, canon characters, CRAU, and anything you can dream up is plenty welcome in Starhue Valley!
Is this a game? It's a sandbox/dressing room/musebox based on the concept of Stardew Valley, except, well, there's more of you here than just one person traveling in.
Okay, but what's a Stardew Valley? Coming soon, Stardew Valley 101: so canon unfamiliar are a little less intimidated!
NPCs? All of the Stardew Valley cast is around, albeit very confused that the entire area has both expanded and is now accommodating a ton of new people. You can NPC them freely, especially if you have played the game, but mod permission is required if one of you charlatans is going to kill them.
Oh no what if I'm trapped? You can't get trapped. It's incredibly easy to just go home on the bus. The only thing impeding your journey is the bus schedule.
I want to do 'this' to the setting. You're welcome to! Just hit up the mod journal here, at [personal profile] starhuemod. We're giving considerable free reign with the area as long as you don't resort to mass destruction. Like we said, you can go home anytime. It's your memories and bonds that are holding you back.
They're worth keeping, aren't they?
Plot? I hope you like farming and building your CR, because boy howdy, is that what it's going to be. There will be several opportunities to strengthen your bonds with other people-- some things you might see at Bakerstreet, like stargazing, insomnia, and rain will definitely pop up here. Mingles will come and go, especially for events. While crack events are accepted, the whole idea of you being here is CR, and thus it will focus on that.
Who is in charge of Starhue Valley? The Mayor, of course. But uh... Marjorie seems to be in charge of you. She seems to have taken over this whole operation as a little rescue for those who have close bonds but live impossibly far apart.
I want to suggest an event. Great! Post it on the Calender post, and we'll slot it in!
I have a character-centric plot I want to work out. See the above! We're absolutely welcome to seeing you develop your character to their fullest potential.
I'm concerned the lax policy on joining will let in Not Great People. What will you do about that? If someone has a history of harassment and bans in the community, I would like to be contacted about it so I can review it and take any action if necessary. However, this is just a musebox, and I can't promise you Rebecca from jamjar_high who told you your Winx OC needed work can be kicked just because they have a history with you.
What if I want to drop? Just go post on the Drop post! There's no activity or penalties, so take care and go join the Hot New Game!
Rules? Don't be rude. Please. We're here to have fun.
Don't godmod, don't do anything inappropriate to other players, especially when they give you the cue to stop. I can always be reached on [personal profile] starhuemod if a player is acting out of line. Just keep the cardinal rules of role-play in your head and you'll be fine.
Also, regarding character duplicates and AUs, don't be surprised/offended/morally outraged if someone comes in with an AU of a character you're also playing. It's a sandbox in the multiverse. These things happen! You can, however, opt out of interaction and such things will be listed on the taken page, which will be a fairly loose page of who's currently moseying around Starhue Valley. Characters that haven't been around for months may be deleted, but can re-pick up at any time.

If any player is acting wildly inappropriate to other players (points to eyes, points to ass) or within the game (RIP Ruby City tree), I'm coming for you, make no mistake. I have a zero tolerance policy for buffoonery.
IC QUESTIONS
What does my farm look like? What if-- fuck farming. Anything you want it to! If you want to live with people in a big group farm, you can. And no, you don't have to farm if you don't want to. In Starhue Valley, surrounded by mountains and trees, the bus that comes and goes doesn't seem to... go or come from anywhere. The tunnels that lead in and out of the mountains are impossible to get through by foot.

However, you can travel over the mountains.

You'll find a huge, sprawling world out there, untouched by mankind. Now, there's puzzles, dungeons, and monsters out there-- in fact, the further you go, the more you think you'll have to roll take initiative and fight off spooky creatures and things that howl in the dark.

Starhue Valley is protected from these things. It's only if you travel over the mountains that you encounter the strange, wild, and bizarre.

Keep in mind, nothing is keeping you here but 1. your desire to keep your memories and 2. possibly death. There's no reason to go out over the mountains... the NPCs will tell you as much.

(Characters are free to use the outside of the map for as much self-made dungeon crawling and adventuring as possible-- the sky is the limits. For things pertaining to Marjorie and how you got here, please ask the mod! You are definitely allowed to venture out and find things that power this place and why it's here.)
What About Money $$$ Gold! Lots and lots of it, if you're willing to tend plants, sell them, and so on. Characters who were rich upon leaving canon will get a currency exchange and are free to hire other characters, NPCs, so on, to build their dream home or maintain their farm or whatever they can do. They can buy out Jojamart, have fun.
... So. Smut? Do it in the privacy of your own home, aka mark it as private, put up a warning, so on and so forth.
Communities? There's an action/network community ([community profile] starhuevalley) for in-person AND network interactions. Characters are given a jPad on arriving, which links them to every character in the game. They're able to message, video, facetime, and privately contact everyone. Anonymous functions work, of course, so let that shitstorm fly.

Keyboards for your jPad are purchasable at Jojamart! :)

As for the main format being action/network... we want to encourage you to have in-person interactions as much as possible. After all, people will see each other while passing through town, going through the forest, et cetera. Feel free to hold a sermon outside the town shop from your Extreme Teen Bible. Talk aloud like a crazy person about not knowing how you got here and wait for someone to explain. Have fun.
I need a reason for my character to stay. He'd want to go home and fix everything but this canon update means I don't have my ship or-- Bus schedules suck, right? Maybe the bus back to their world has broken down, and then the next bus that came arrived at 2 AM for three minutes. Marjorie outsourced her bus program, she can't exactly help it.
CAN I DATE THE NPCs A dream is a wish your heart makes, dude. Have fun.
But is Marjorie datable
My character is Buffpunch Smokelots and he WOULD NOT tolerate being here and he ABSOLUTELY would kick the shit out of Shane You're free to nerf your characters as necessary for them to fit the setting-- this is not really a game appropriate for pissing contest, DBZ-esque fights.
But what about villains, though? Do villains value their memories with others from the games they come from? Then they're going to have to put up with the peaceful nature of this place. It's not conquerable-- you're already given free reign, there's literally nothing you can take from this place that's not already handed to you.
My character is a killer, soooo, shane stabby stabby There will be consequences for killing.
Speaking of, what if I die? Your ass came from the multiverse, you can survive a little stabbing. Marjorie will have it so you wake up in your bed the next day, fit as a fiddle.
So... there's no nerfs? Be a responsible RPer. If you know your character will level the ground if someone looks at them badly or steals their prized gourd, have their powers fizzle out and go for a good fist-punching instead. Nerf yourself when appropriate, don't have me do it for you.
So that means I can godmod? WHAT RP RULES HAVE EVER SAID THAT please don't
How many characters can I play? Think of this place like a revolving door. Whoever you're feeling and whoever you feel like knocking out a paragraph or three for, you can have in game and if not, you can idle them out. It's a musebox only a step above Bakerstreet in commitment, so don't worry.
I want to play a Stardew Valley character! I totally want you to! PM the mod account if you do want to play an NPC, it'll be just like playing a regular character only you get to be on the inside of how strange this all is!
I want to bring my- Bring It.

Bring your gundam, your voltrons, your oversized lovable pets. Set free your box of zubats you were breeding to get one shiny. Bring your ship over the coast, bring your cool power suits, bring it. It's your house. Have the thing. Characters aren't downsized.
I'm apping someone who feeds on other humans Neat! Pierre's will be carrying unidentifiable sacks of red meat and/or blood for these people. He's a little nervous about selling it, but he'd prefer you feed on what Marjorie has shipped in than the townsfolk.
Can I NPC this character important to my story? Yeah. It’s a sandbox/musebox, I’m not penalizing you for having something that makes your experience more fun.
Does time stop at home and will my character know? Marjorie will inform them that time stops at home - of course, feel free to not believe that. Marjorie can answer all questions that are brought up here, so feel free to assume they had a talk.
How does ‘nerf at will’ work? Basically— nerf yourself when you’re crossing into godmod territory. The last of the gods’ powers are going towards keeping the peace. An example is Gilgamesh from Fate, who is ridiculously overpowered. He goes and meets some gremlin child who disrespects him and decides to curb stomp them. In this situation, he would immediately fall weak within reason (he can still hit this person and have it hurt, but he can’t bring down Ea on them). Once out of the situation, he would feel back to full power, but a light switch rave is going to happen with his powers if he does it again and again and again. Keep violence in the realm of realistic violence.

This doesn’t mean we’re adverse to villain plots!

Question: Can I NPC character’s twin brother and adopted son? They make guest cameos and simply visit him in his house. Family is important to the character. I’m just wondering if I can simply handwave their visits/stays with him in his house since I imagined this all in my head. His adopted son most likely stay with him, but won’t say much because he’s a mute invalid in a wheelchair (but will regain his speech and ability to walk over periods of time).

Also I’m too lazy making separate accounts for each of them and rather NPC under one account which is this one. His family came from the same universe/timeline as him.

Thank you, thank you mods. I have to ask because it’s almost a player-cest related question, but I’m a lone canon warrior. I have me and this other player who are plotting out to roleplay out a family unit together, so your answer helps!
